Highlights
In 2013, our group has centered its activity in the area of environmental epidemiology, ó
specially focused on the investigation of human exposure to endocrine disrupters and
its consequences on human health. An important event was the organization of the 8th
Spanish Conference on Endocrine Disruption, as a central activity of the 12th Spanish
Meeting on Environmental Health.
Competitive financial support (see below) allowed us to publish 27 scientific publica-
tions included in the CR. As active member, our group took part in two sub-programs:
Childhood and Environment (INMA) and Cancer multi-case/control Spain (MCC-Spain).
The leader of the group and some of its members participate actively in Experts’ and
Working Groups of the WHO and European Commission regarding Endocrine Disruption.
As an example, they are responsible for a WHO monograph on ED and the SCEHNIR
report “Bisphenol-A in Medical Devices”. The leader became Scientific Director of the
new Institute for Biomedical Research of Granada, under the auspicious of the Spanish
ISCIII.
