• Disfunción endotelial, dislipemia y la enfermedad cardiovascular en la diabetes tipo 2 . Estamos investigando los factores de riesgo no clásicos de enfermedad cardiovascular . En este contex- to cabe destacar nuestra relevante participación en el proyecto integrado de excelencia (PIE13/00027) “Prevención de eventos isquémicos cardiovasculares y de sus consecuencias en pacientes diabéticos tipo 2: un enfoque clínico y experimental multidisciplinar”, financiado por el Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad .
• La Diabetes como acelerador metabólico de la enfermedad de Alzheimer . En este sentido hay que señalar que estamos desarrollando el proyecto “Retinal Neurodegeneration in Type 2 diabetes as biomarker for Alzheimer´s disease” financiado por la European Foundation for the Study of Diabetes (EFSD) .
