Organizational Governance
BOARD OF TRUSTEES
The Board of Trustees is formed by three representatives from Instituto de Salud Carlos III and one institutional representative from each of the consortium entities . The Board is chaired by the Director of Instituto de Salud Carlos III with the participation of the CIBER Scientific Director and Manager, the latter of which acts as Secretary of the Board .
PERMANENT COMMISSION
It is formed by the President of the Board of Trustees, or another delegated person, the Scientific Director of the CIBER consortium, the Manager of the said CIBER consortium –who acts as secretary- and four members representing the Consortium Institutions .
EXTERNAL SCIENTIFIC ADVISORY COMMITTEE
CIBERESP includes an External Scientific Advisory Committee functioning as an advisory body . This committee, a general scientific support and advisory body to the Board of Trustees, is formed by internationally renowned scientists in the field of health sciences who have distinguished themselves through their professional or scientific work in line with the objectives of the Centre .
In December 2010, the Board of Trustees approved the current composition of the External Scientific Committee consisting of the following professionals:
• Alejandro Jadad (Professor, ehealthorganization, Canada) Committee Chairperson . • Francisco Javier Nieto (Professor, U . de Wiscounsin, USA) • Isabelle Romieu (Service Manager, IARC, Lyon) • Ciro de Cuadros (Vice-chairperson, Sabin Vaccine Institute, Washington, USA)
• Naomar de Almeida Filho (Professor and former Dean, U . de Bahía, Brazil)
