Our strategic objective is to produce relevant information to support clinical

and population-based policies aimed at controlling CVD. The results of our
studies have been explicitly incorporated into the National Strategy for Is-

chemic Heart Disease Control, the National Strategy for Obesity Prevention

and Control, and the National Strategy on Disease Prevention and health
Promotion, elaborated by the Ministry of Health. Moreover, our research re-

sults have also supported the development of clinical guidelines in this field; 20
specifically, the guidelines of the Spanish Society for Arterial Hypertension, T

and guidelines of the Spanish Society of Family Medicine, the leading society PO

devoted to primary health care in Spain.
