The members of the group are located at different Universities: Universidad of
Highlights
Alcal (F. Bolumar), U. Miguel Hernández (Grupo EPINUT leaded by J Vioque) y U.
Jaume I (M. Rebagliato). A total of 26 articles were published in 2013, mostly in

International journals with IF in the JCR-ISI Thomson and in accordance with the
main lines pointed out and specific aims stated in previous reports.

The EPINUT group is led by Prof. Jesus Vioque who developed and validated a

food frequency questionnaire for dietary assessment of pregnant women and their

children from the INMA Study. This FFQ is allowing other groups of CIBERESP and,
particularly with Marisa Rebagliato within the group 6, to investigate the role of

dietary factors and supplements such as folic acid and iodine supplements on fetal

growth, neurodevelopment, obesity and other outcomes of interest in the INMA
Study.

The EPINUT group is also involved in International projects such as EUREYE Study

on age-related macular degeneration in elderly population in European (Financed
by the VFP-EU) and the initiative Global Burden of Metabolic Risk Factors of

Chronic Diseases Collaborating Group (Circulation, 2013; Pop Health Metrics,

2013). It is also collaborating with other CIBERESP groups in National Projects
financed by FIS-ISCIII (Determinants of Mammographic Density)

The EPINUT group has developed a website platform to facilitate the use

and analysis of epidemiology studies with interest of diet and nutrition.
