The most relevant activities carried out by the group no. 43 throughout the year
Highlights
2013 include:

• The coordination of the Iberoamerican Cochrane Network, which has allowed
to develop and publish many systematic reviews in the Cochrane Database of

Systematic Reviews (with an IF 5,9) as well as many actions of dissemination of

knowledge and research methodology (including the translation and publication
of La Biblioteca Cochrane, with open access in Spain and most Latin American

countries).

• Active participation in many international non-commercial clinical trials and stu-

dies in collaboration with other leading global research academic institutions
(where the group has acted as national coordinator and promoter in several of

them, especially in the field of perioperative medicine), several of which have ob-

tained competitive public funding and have generated high-impact publications.

• The development of different guidelines on clinical practice under the Plan de
Calidad para el Sistema Nacional de Salud del Ministerio de Sanidad, Política So-

cial e Igualdad and/or in collaboration with scientific entities, defining the group

as one of the major technical units in elaborating guidelines and methodological
advice in Spain.

• The boost of research and dissemination of knowledge initiatives in the field of

assessing practices and procedures, and analysing the alignment of clinical and

care practice (including the recent launch of the website DianaSalud).
13
• The active participation in collaborative workgroups and networks, some of in- 20
ternational scope (Cochrane Collaboration, GRADE Working Group, Guiasalud, T
