Main lines of research
• Vaccine preventable diseases.
The group of the National Center of Microbiology is the national reference
laboratory for measles and rubella as recognized in the corresponding na-
tional plans for elimination and accredited by the WHO. Moreover, diagnos-
tic techniques for other vaccine preventable diseases (mumps, pertussis or 13

chickenpox) were studied in the context of specific programs of microbio- T

logical surveillance. Additionally to this official activity, the group currently PO
