Main lines of research
• We study the link between endocrine disruptors and type 2 diabetes . We investigate the actions of oestrogens and environmental oestrogenic pollutants in the function of pancreatic alpha and beta cells with an emphasis on the molecular mechanisms involved .
• Signal transduction pathways involved in the function and pathology of alpha and beta-cells . We study the activation of signalling pathways by leptin receptors . Additionally, we investigate the adap- tations of islet-cells to obesity and malnutrition states .
