Main lines of research
• Alterations of biogenesis and/or mitochondrial functions in human pathology due to genetic or epigenetic causes.
• Biosynthesis, assembling and degradation of the mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation Complex V. Identification and functional characterization of the mRNA binding proteins from the beta-F1-AT- Pasa subunit.
• Development of cellular and mouse models of disease with alterations in mitochondrial oxida- tive phosphorylation.
• Development of proteomic platforms for the iden- tification of molecular markers of diagnosis in rare diseases related to energy metabolism.
• Protein expression and development of monoclo- nal antibodies against mitochondrial proteins and energy metabolism to be used in mitochondrial pathologies diagnostic kits.
